Alexander Musgrove, c. 1932. Winnipeg Art Gallery.

The Winnipeg School of Art is founded on June 21, with Alexander Musgrove (1881–1952) appointed as both its Principal and, after his short-serving predecessor Donald MacQuarrie (1872–after 1932) resigns, Curator. At this historic juncture, the Winnipeg Museum of Fine Arts and the Winnipeg School of Art are considered two halves of the same institution.
