Art in the Age of Van Gogh opens on May 16.

The exhibition traces the evolution of Dutch painting through the 19th century, and draws works from the Rijksmusuem in Amsterdam, many of which had never before been displayed outside the Netherlands. The exhibition, which consists of more than $77 million worth of Dutch art (including four paintings by Van Gogh), is considered a coup for Winnipeg. It attracts 40,000 visitors, more than double the WAG’s projections.
