Live bees in the Gallery! Aganetha Dyck, a major solo exhibition of the nationally renowned Manitoba artist, opens. The exhibition, which is hosted concurrently at the WAG and St. Norbert Arts and Cultural Centre in south Winnipeg, focuses in particular on Dyck’s “collaborative” sculptural practice with honey bees. The WAG-organized exhibition tours to the Mackenzie Art Gallery (Regina), Glenbow Museum (Calgary), Vancouver Art Gallery, and the MacDonald Stewart Art Centre (Guelph).
