On November 8, the Gallery hosts the fourth annual Winnipeg Show.

One of the jurors, Dr. Robert Hamilton Hubbard (1916–1989), Chief Curator of the National Gallery of Canada comments that it stands as the best show of Canadian contemporary art. Thirty-two works of art are purchased from the Winnipeg Show, eight of which are acquired by the Gallery including Wall for Hammurabi by Harold Town (1924–1990) and Rain by Anne Kahane.
