Cape Dorset becomes the first Inuit community to produce an annual print collection. The Women’s Committee, which had to date focused almost exclusively on sculpture, begins an active role in supporting acquisitions of work from this annual collection.

Seven prints from the 1960 collection are bought, including Enchanted Owl by Kenojuak Ashevak, which is now a collector’s item. The peak purchase period was 1967 to 1976 when 96 prints were acquired by the Gallery.
