Bug City, a contemporary art exhibition in which artists use and represent bugs in their work to discus social, political, and environmental issues, opens on September 21. Popular pieces include Lift, a display of beetle specimens installed inside the Gallery elevator by Jennifer Angus and Steven Funk, and the performance In Habitation Vancouver: WAG during which the Vancouver artist Joelle Ciona weaves a giant spider web from the Gallery’s ceiling.
