The WAG receives a collection of Inuit art, numbering over 100 works, mostly sculpture, from Faye and Bert Settler.

The Settlers had managed a significant commercial gallery in Winnipeg for almost 50 years. Although the Upstairs Gallery exhibited more than Inuit art, Faye Settler (1916–2004) in particular played a significant role in introducing it to many collectors. The Settler Collection is notable for its focus on art and artists of the Kivalliq region, which includes much of present-day Nunavut.
