American Narrative/Story Art: 1967–1977, a major exhibition of contemporary American art from the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston, opens on July 1.

The exhibition explores artwork that incorporates “narrative, either in the form of organized visual sequences, through video, tape recordings, films, slides and photography or by a written narrative.” The exhibition includes contributions from over 40 artists including Dennis Oppenheim (1938–2011), Laurie Anderson, Lisa Steele, Martha Rosler, Lynda Benglis, and Terry Allen.
