March 30: At an Executive Meeting of the Board of Directors, John A. MacAulay (1895–1978) refers in detail to the qualifications of Dr. Ferdinand Eckhardt (1902–1995) of Vienna. He reads a letter by MacAulay to Eckhardt, and Eckhardt’s reply in which he states his interest. The Board agrees to offer Dr. Eckhardt the role of Director for a three-year period.
